Plastic Omnium has just announced the construction of a hydrogen tank manufacturing plant in Compiègne. With a production capacity of 80,000 tanks per year, it will be put into service in 2025.
The Prime Minister, Élisabeth Borne, declared during her visit to the α‑Alphatech research and development center of Plastic Omnium to set up public financing for the entire French hydrogen sector, including 74 million euros to develop the hydrogen activities of the Plastic Omnium group.
The company then announced the creation of its new factory. This should create around 200 jobs in Compiègne, where the group’s research & development activity will continue in the research center.
The group also announced the signing of two contracts with Stellantis and Hyvia for the design and production of 700 bar hydrogen tank modules intended for utility vehicles.
