We have changed times since the last Paris Motor Show in 2018, says Serge Gachot, director of the Paris Motor Show, going for example from 2% of registrations with electric motors to 20% in 2022. With this electric shift already underway, the fuel price situation, but also the new engines, hybrid, hydrogen or CNG, at the time of announced sobriety, the automobile sector is in the midst of a revolution. For professionals in the sector, the shift towards sustainability must be well negotiated. The structure of the sector diverges, skills change: batteries, semiconductors, fuel cells are produced by new players in an industry which is becoming virtuous. The World Cup will be an opportunity for professionals to have a global overview of the automobile of tomorrow.
For their part, our visitors ask a lot of questions about autonomy, fueling, cost and the challenges of these new energies. Major manufacturers will be present at the only international automobile show in Europe in 2022 to present their offers, alongside new players specializing in hydrogen engines, such as Hopium or NamX. We will also have a space dedicated to new energy professional vehicles to meet the needs of craftsmen, traders, etc.
The Mondial de l’Auto will present the new offer from automobile manufacturers, with total immersion in the automobile of the 21ste century: electrification, hybridization, hydrogen, hyperconnectivity…
It is also important that our visitors have the opportunity to touch, to understand, to try. The French love cars, we have to show them that sustainable driving remains a pleasure! This is why our show will offer a stand on the energy transition hosted by AVERE, the PFA and Mobilians, but our visitors will also be able to have “experiential” answers. We have therefore entrusted La Squadra, a specialist in automobile testing, with the organization of tests on these new engines. »
“In discussion with Serge Gachot, we proposed the creation of a BtoB LCV zone of nearly 2,000 m² dedicated to electric, hybrid and hydrogen mobility,” explains Didier Sommereau, director of La Squadra, specialist in tests and roadshows since 23 years old, World Cup partner. We will welcome visitors craftsmen, liberal professions, delivery people, communities who need professional vehicles. This space is being created in partnership with the Banque des Territories, and will include the presence of Mobivolt and Vipost. We will welcome Hyvia or Stellantis, but also new players in the sector, including several start-ups. Visitors will thus be able to have a complete overview not only of the vehicles, with answers to questions relating to maintenance, the network of stations or recharging, but also of the financial and fiscal aspect, with national and regional aid.
Our goal is for visitors to leave the World Cup knowing what they want to buy. In addition, we also have a testing center with registration on site or online in advance. These tests are organized alongside halls 4 and 6. In 2014, we carried out 12,000 tests; this year, we will have 50 test pilots available at the show. These tests are also an opportunity to answer all the questions that arise about these new energies. »
“After the purchase of 50% of the Mondial by the Hopscotch agency, we decided to make the show more “experiential”, explains Serge Gachot. One hundred and twenty-four years after the very first Paris Auto Show, a new landscape of automobility is revealed, driven by this force of innovation which has always been the DNA of the automobile industry and his living room. The 2022 Paris Motor Show will be the showcase of this revolution in progress, but it remains a great celebration for all the automobile enthusiasts that we are. 68% of French people say it would be difficult, if not impossible, for them to do without a car on a daily basis. For a week, the innovations, particularly French, which are shaping a new era of progress and passion, will be revealed to the eyes of the whole world. The automobile is much more than a means of getting around. She makes you dream. And there are many of us, like you, who are attached to this freedom of movement that only the automobile offers. »
