    FillnDrive: facilitating the distribution of hydrogen

    Created to meet the needs and specificities of hydrogen distribution stations, the FillnDrive company offers simplified management thanks to an ergonomic interface and an offer compliant with legal metrology. The company will notably offer a new, unique touch screen for end users, to fill up with hydrogen and drive… with ease!

    Le Rapid deployment of a network of hydrogen distribution stations is essential to support carbon-free mobility. This development is taking place today in a BtoB environment around vehicle fleets and soon long-distance transport.

    Remote station management

    “We come from the digital world and our objective is to support station operators in the commercial operation of their stations and users of hydrogen vehicles in their daily lives by broadcasting in real time the availability of each station,” explains Laurent Rouvet, CEO of FillnDrive. To our operator customers, we offer a centralized view through our digital tools and our application; For drivers, we offer feedback and ease of payment. Our objective is to allow station operators to have a simple and modern digital tool to facilitate their tasks, to have in a few clicks a global and central vision of the activities of the stations and their customers. This tool allows you to manage drivers, stations and customer billing with a flexible system. Thus, the Station Operator web portal offers standardized technical supervision tools to monitor and manage each state of the station and to manage the supply and stock of hydrogen. It also allows you to set up tailor-made commercial conditions for each customer and manage all sales administration, from registration to invoicing. The Fleet Manager portal allows each fleet manager to monitor their needs and adapt the organization of energy supply to their activity. »

    “Since its beginnings, FillnDrive has identified the specific support and feedback needs for users that a hydrogen distributor must achieve. Hydrogen is a more complex product under very high pressure. The user should have messages if this doesn’t work. For drivers, the idea is to support them with a mobile application publishing station availability in real time. We want to avoid the difficulties encountered by the electrical terminal market (which requires a multitude of badges and subscriptions), through the most complete openness and interoperability possible. FillnDrive offers a user-friendly app to support upcoming and during refueling driving. »

    Metrology

    The FillnDrive offer complies with legal metrology (OIML R139). It allows hydrogen station network operators to manage:

    – their customers and direct payment or invoicing for the B2B market (with great flexibility on invoicing methods);

    – real-time and centralized supervision of their network of stations, including heterogeneous brands and models;

    – the provision of a web portal for fleet managers (white label);

    – the provision of a mobile application (white label) or an API allowing users to know in real time the availability of their network as well as scheduled maintenance;

    – the establishment of roaming contracts with other station network or fleet operators. This comes with all the associated management tools.

    FillnDrive tomorrow

    In addition to the offer for station network operators, FillnDrive is developing a legal metrology calculator offer with a unique touch screen which improves the user experience by taking advantage of this knowledge of feedback needs. This offer will be available from the first quarter of 2023. FillnDrive is also developing technology allowing “Plug&Charge” of vehicles. This automatic identification of the vehicle makes it possible to authorize the charge and record the transaction for billing or debiting a subscription.

    This technology is a candidate for replacing infrared communication, which will simplify, make more economical, robust, make reliable and secure this communication. FillnDrive was involved in the WG 24 working group of the ISO/TC 197 program to ensure that these technologies become part of international standards. The challenge is faster and safer charging, especially for heavy goods vehicles.

    The cloud platform will be enriched with new modules for station operators (origin traceability, certificate of origin, yield management, data analysis), fleet managers, vehicle manufacturers (reporting, data, KPI) and all players in the hydrogen value chain.
