Can you tell us about the upcoming European Hydrogen Week?
European Hydrogen Weekorganised by Hydrogen Europe, the European Commission and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, brings together the entire European hydrogen sector in one place for a full week of conferences, exhibitions and excellent networking opportunities.
This event is the best opportunity to stay up to date with the latest innovations, policies and developments in the field of hydrogen. It is a great opportunity to get involved in the fastest growing industry in Europe.
With over 100 exhibitors, 25 panel discussions and over 200 industry speakers, there’s no better place to learn about all things hydrogen!
The conferences: what is the program and what topics are covered?
The event programme covers a wide range of topics relevant to the hydrogen sector in Europe and globally, split between our high-level policy conference and our B2B forum. The opening sessions on Monday will focus on the global challenges ahead and the need for regulations and standards for international hydrogen trade.
The keynote speakers will be Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Maroš Šefčovič, newly appointed Executive Vice-President for Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight at the head of the European Commission.
Subsequently, roundtables will be organised on hydrogen storage and financing. Long-term seasonal hydrogen storage addresses the variability of renewables, improves grid flexibility and supports the transition to a sustainable and balanced electricity system. With global demand for clean hydrogen expected to reach 500-680 million tonnes by 2050, it is essential to catalyse investments in third countries to support the development of the hydrogen value chain.
On Tuesday 21.11.2023, one of the highlights will certainly be the panel on the European Hydrogen Bank, whose first pilot auction is launched during the European Hydrogen Week! The Bank can be an excellent opportunity to enable hydrogen projects to start competitively and contribute to achieving the ambitious goals of the sector.
Additional discussions on electrolyzer manufacturing, supply chain resilience, hydrogen for shipping and aviation, and hydrogen transportation—among many other fascinating topics—will keep visitors informed and intrigued throughout the week.
The exhibition: which players in the hydrogen sector will be present?
Our exhibitors represent all aspects of the hydrogen value chain, from manufacturers and engineering companies to technology leaders, infrastructure operators and producers. The biggest names in the industry will be there to showcase the latest developments in hydrogen technology.
Research institutes and non-profit organisations are also present. In addition, many national member associations of Hydrogen Europe will be there to share their vision for their national hydrogen sector – the role of Member States is crucial for the success of the hydrogen revolution!
Why is this event unmissable?
Visitors will be able to see the latest hydrogen innovations first-hand and hear exciting discussions on the key issues facing the industry today. There’s no better event if you want to learn as much as possible about the sector and its importance to our decarbonisation goals.
Exhibitors have the opportunity to showcase their latest products and advancements, all of which will play a role in our mission to decarbonize society. The many networking spaces set up throughout the event allow innovators and entrepreneurs to meet, collaborate and inspire each other.
