A spin-off of the company FlexFuel Energy Development, specializing in future technologies, Gen-Hy aims to contribute to the development of a 100% French hydrogen technology sector.
It has developed a new generation of electrolysers integrating its innovative and patented ZERO GAP AEM (Anion Exchange Membrane) membrane technology, the result of a 5-year collaboration with French laboratories and the support of the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments).
THE stacks (generators hydrogen) AEM ZERO GAP of Gen-Hy combine THE advantages of alkaline and PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) technologies, achieving energy efficiency of plus of 85%, sans utilisation of metals rares. Il does not exist has ce jour only 7 membrane producers (all technologies combined) in the world, none in France.
Gen-Hy will thus be the only company in the world to control the entire value chain of electrolysis : production of the membranes, deposits catalytic et integration stacks. The patented Hy-Cube® electrolyzer system, modular and agile, is intended for systems hydrogen on-site (fabrication on place) of size average (50kW has 4MW).
A future production factory unique in France and 120 jobs created
It is has the opportunity of the inauguration of flag collective Burgundy-Franche-Comté on the Hyvolution show that Gen-Hy chose to announce the news.
Backed by international industrial players, Gen-Hy is now entering the industrialization phase of its innovative solutions. To do this, the company whose R&D is historically based in the south of Ile-de-France, has chosen a implantation au be of Pays of Montbéliard Agglomeration, et in particular of the zone of activity Technoland 2, to produce on a large scale, its range of Hy- electrolysers Cube®. Gen-Hy announcement the creation of 120 jobs from here 2025 on the site.
The factory, which will eventually reach 8,000 m2will be built on a 4 ha plot by the WHICH PMIE (Pays of Montbéliard Real estate of Companies) et operational courant 2023. The process investment, excluding real estate, amounts to €15 million.
Sébastien LE POLLÈS, President of Gen-Hy, and his team were able to count on the coordination of regional and local development agencies (AER-BFC and ADN-FC) and the mobilization of the State, the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region, Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération, and the SEM PMIE, within very short deadlines, in order to collectively provide a response adapted to the technical and financial challenges of the company.
Burgundy-Franche-Comté, a resolutely attractive hydrogen territory!
The deployment of the Hydrogen sector is among the strategic orientations of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region, a pioneer in France for more than 20 years.
The regional Hydrogen sector is based on a fertile university base and a real synergy between local authorities, researchers and industrialists. Companies positioned on the hydrogen value chain are strongly represented in Burgundy-Franche-Comté and innovate daily, in connection with:
- the Support and Research Unit (UAR) FC Lab of Belfort and the laboratory of research FEMTO-ST (Université of Burgundy-Franche-Comté et CNRS), internationally recognized, as well as the Hydrogen Energy platform from Belfort
- THE grands accounts industrial present on the territory : starry GENERAL ELECTRIC, ALSTOM, FAURECIA, HYNAMICS (EDF)…
- THE many builders regional of vehicles H2 : trailers, autonomous trailers, 2 or 3 wheels, garbage dumpsters, trucks…
This remarkable regional commitment of 100 million euros has already had a significant impact on economic dynamism.omics of territories and investment private. Of many projects industrial ont vu the jour ces 10 latest years : emergence of start-ups, establishment of major industrial sites (electrolyzer gigafactory, production of high pressure tanks, etc.), diversification or change of companies towards new production or service activities for the Hydrogen sector in full swing growth. The Region a Besides passé order has Alstom pour 3 trains has hydrogen, the first of which should circulate on the Auxerre–Laroche-Migennes line from 2023.
