Since 2021, France Hydrogen has set up a network of 12 regional delegations to support the development of a booming sector and accelerate the deployment of projects as close as possible to the territories in direct contact with the actors on the ground. In April 2023, France Hydrogène wants to create two new delegations in the Antilles-Guyana and Corsica. These territories have in common that they belong to so-called non-interconnected zones (ZNI). Driven by major challenges of access to energy and its storage, these territories have specificities that must be taken into account but for which the development of hydrogen is an asset in terms of services provided.
The main missions of each delegation are to lead and structure the hydrogen sector at the local level (academic, economic and industrial stakeholders, institutions, communities), to support and federate initiatives, and finally to create bridges between the different stakeholders in the field, in order to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen projects. The regional delegations aim to respond to the specific challenges of their territory and to the needs of France Hydrogène members in the region.
